A great listen out of Zak Starkey and Sharna “Sshh” Liguz‘s new label Trojan Jamaica. First release Red Gold Green & Blue is a compilation that features tracks with twists of reggae. “I Put a Spell on You” sung by Mykal Rose spills out a solid cool mellow down tempo in line with King Tubby and Lee Perry. Terrific rendition. “Bring it On Home” is bluesy with a bit of a rockabilly tint, Phylea Carley hits the mark with a hint of ska raggae on “Baby Please Don’t Go.” Love it. Blues and raggae in one bag!
